Onoway and District Fish and Game Association and Gun Club

The Onoway and District Fish & Game Association and Gun Club is a member of the Alberta Fish and Game Association.

Currently the club maintains a number of projects in the Onoway area.

Imrie Park

This project is a joint effort between the club, and the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation.  This is a recreational area and campground for the enjoyment of all.  The club manages the park, and a campground host is in attendance from May to September,  Reservation deposits and user fees may apply.  Contact Phone No (780)405-6176.  The park is located east of the Town of Onoway on Highway 37, turn south on RR15.  The park is approximately 1 km off the highway.  The location is well marked with signs.

Salter's Lake

The lake is stocked annually with rainbow trout, and is open to the public for fishing all year.  Alberta fishing regulations apply.  The lake is aerated in order to support the fish population.  Onoway Fish & Game Club operate and maintain the facility.  Boats are allowed on the lake, electric motors only.  Boat launch and pier are available for public use.

Alberta Sustainable Resource Development stocks the lake each spring.  The lake is located one mile south of the Town of Onoway on RR22 then ½ mile east on Township Road 544.

Gun Range

The range is equipped with facilities for archery, trap shooting as well as rifle and small bore firearms.  Anyone wishing to use the range, must be a member of the Onoway and District Fish & Game Association and must take our rules and regulations course.  The range is locked and under video surveillance at all times.  Once a member has met the requirements, a key for the gate is issued to that member and they are responsible to see that all regulations are followed.  The range is located one mile south of Imrie Park, on RR15.  For more information please email info@ofga.ca

Education Centre

This is a classroom equipped for club meetings, conservation education, and is available to local youth organizations, as a meeting place for their outdoor activities and meetings.  This facility is located at the gun range property, one mile south of Imrie Park, on RR15.
